Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many hats. An NBA Hall of Famer, beloved sports commentator, actor, rapper, business owner, DJ – the list goes on. This September, O’Neal is coming to Southern Methodist University in Dallas as part of the “Credit Tip Off Tour”, where he’ll perform a DJ set under his moniker DJ Diesel.
Produced by Medium Rare – the events company behind Shaq’s Fun House and Travis Kelce’s Kelce Jam – the event is part of Credit One Bank’s “Credit Tip Off Tour”. Hosted at Moody Coliseum at Southern Methodist University on September 14, the event will open with a conversation between Shaq, sports host and content creator, Jenna Brandy, and Credit One Bank CMO, Michael Coleman.
“Credit education isn’t often taught in school, so we built this tour with Shaquille O’Neal to help close that gap and empower young people to make informed credit decisions,” said Michael Coleman, Chief Marketing Officer at Credit One Bank in a press statement.

The format is designed to make credit literacy feel accessible rather than intimidating, with interactive games and prize giveaways woven throughout.
“As the brand that believes in forward momentum, we’re meeting students where they are to kick-start their credit education in a memorable, engaging way and help set them up for a successful financial future.”
Following the credit chat, Shaquille O’Neal will hit the decks for a live DJ Diesel set, turning the educational promotion into a live concert event.
The event is free and capped at 500 enrolled students. Registration is open now at creditonetipofftour.com.
Following Dallas, the tour moves to Georgia State University on October 23, Fred’s Bar in Baton Rouge on November 6, and Florida Atlantic University on November 9. SMU students can secure their spot at creditonetipofftour.com.
Dallasites can also catch Shaq performing under DJ Diesel at SILO on Sunday, September 20. Tickets are still available starting at $24.95.
