Biergartens and tents at Addison Oktoberfest
In the spirit of the traditional annual Oktoberfest celebration in Munich, the Addison Oktoberfest offers a large-scale Bavarian bash, complete with a mix of biergartens and live entertainment tents.
The central Paulaner Biergarten hosts traditional games like stein carrying, bingo, and barrel rolling, while the Draught Haus screens college and pro football games.
Over at the open-air Partyhalle, you can catch the official keg tapping, the Dachshund Dash, and the Masskrugstemmen (stein-holding) contests alongside live polka and country music. The festival also leans into its local roots with the Texas Zwei Step area, blending Bavarian customs with a Texas twist.
For families, the Kidsgarten features free crafts, airbrush tattoos, chalk art, and a dedicated root biergarten. Kids 12 and under can also compete for prizes in their own Mini Masskrug competition.
Addison Oktoberfest entertainment
The Texas Zwei Step area at Addison Oktoberfest brings a local twist to the Bavarian festival. On the north lawn, the Texas Prost Stage hosts live music and dancing. Inside the air-conditioned Addison Theatre Centre, the Kleinhalle offers acoustic sets, while the Lederhosen Lounge runs bier bingo, karaoke, and sets by DJ Zen.
Around the theatre, you can catch live Glockenspiel performances from the balcony, play free classic arcade games like Pac-Man at the Biercadia in the lobby, or join the silent disco at Stiefel Studio. Over at the Stone Cottage, Kaffee & Kuchen serves traditional gingerbread hearts and Bavarian sweets.
Eating and drinking at Addison Oktoberfest
The food lineup at Addison Oktoberfest covers German staples, fairground classics, and sweet treats. Vendors like Siegi’s Sausage Factory and The Brat Haus serve up traditional bratwursts, running alongside festival regulars including Boardwalk Bites, Dynamite Eggrolls, and Kaffee & Kuchen. You can pay at the stalls using cash, credit cards, or Addison Tasty Bucks from previous years.
At the taps, the festival pours Munich biers straight from Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr. The traditional options range from deep golden Festbiers and malty Märzens to a banana-forward Hefe-Weizen and a low-ABV Grapefruit Radler. Paulaner’s classic Pilsner is also on the menu, though it pours exclusively inside the Kleinhalle.
