As summer winds down, it’s time to gear up for the fall fun Dallas-Fort Worth has to offer. High on the list is the return of Six Flags Over Texas’ popular Fright Fest. The Arlington theme park will undergo a macabre makeover, complete with haunted mazes, scare zones, live entertainment and family-friendly daytime activities.
Fright Fest is now open for the season on select nights through November 1, 2026. The annual event transforms Six Flags Over Texas into a Halloween playground filled with haunted mazes, roaming creatures and horror-movie-inspired nightmares.
Here is what you can expect at the 2026 Fright Fest:
Haunted Houses & Mazes
This year’s lineup includes five haunted mazes, three of them inspired by major horror franchises and two original concepts. Haunted mazes require a separate Haunted Attractions Pass.
- The Conjuring Universe: Enter the Warrens’ occult museum, where cursed artifacts awaken ancient evil. Guests will encounter Annabelle, flee the Nun and face the demonic forces of the Perron farmhouse.
- The Strangers: No Escape: Inspired by The Strangers: Chapters 1 & 2, this maze puts guests in the path of iconic masked figures lurking in the shadows.
- SAW: Legacy of Terror: Step into Jigsaw’s twisted world and attempt to escape John Kramer’s diabolical contraptions before time runs out.
- EverSmile Industries presented by M&M’S: Tour a retro-futuristic factory where the pursuit of perfection takes a disturbing turn.
- Terror at the Polynesian Palm presented by SKITTLES: Explore an abandoned hotel haunted by a mysterious island legend and newly enhanced scares.
Scare Zones
After dark, the park’s pathways fill with monsters, zombies and other creatures. New for 2026 is Día de los Muertos, set in the park’s Mexico section, where the boundary between life and death begins to decay. Returning scare zones include Plague, The Last Harvest, Forsaken Fairgrounds and Outlaw’s Revenge.
Also new is Doc Varnum’s Hybrid Hell Pit, a premium scare-zone experience featuring backwoods sideshow horrors, swamp fog and never-before-seen hybrid creatures. Unlike the other outdoor scare zones, this attraction requires a Haunted Attractions Pass.
Live Entertainment
New for 2026, Wake the Dead is an interactive musical murder mystery in which guests help determine the outcome of a family murder investigation. Other returning entertainment includes The Awakening, the nightly release of the park’s nighttime monsters; Spectral Sisters, an eerie New Orleans-inspired vocal performance; and Amor Eterno: A Día de los Muertos Special, featuring Ballet de Folklórico.
For the Kiddos (Tricks and Treats)
Families and guests looking for a less-scary experience can visit Tricks and Treats, held Saturdays and Sundays from September 12 through November 1. Activities include a Trick-or-Treat Trail, a kids’ costume contest, a hay bale maze, pumpkin and mask painting, the Skelebration Dance Party and the Looney Tunes Spooktacular Dance Party.
Good to Know: Six Flags says Fright Fest is not recommended for children under 13. During Fright Fest, costumes, costume masks, face coverings, SFX makeup and other attire intended to conceal a guest’s identity are prohibited.
Tickets to Fright Fest
General park admission includes scare zones, live shows and most rides, but haunted mazes require a separate Haunted Attractions Pass. The pass starts at $30, excluding processing fees and applicable taxes, while Fright Fest bundles that include park admission and haunted-maze access start at $69, also before fees and taxes.
