Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center has announced the theme of its annual ICE! exhibition: Harry Potter!
Each year, the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center at Lake Grapevine hosts its annual ICE! holiday walk-through experience. The experience regularly features two million pounds of brightly colored, hand-carved ice sculptures. Each year, the event features a unique theme – with past events inspired by Elf, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and more.
Kept at a frosty 9°F to preserve the artwork created by master artisans from Harbin, China, guests are provided with complimentary calf-length blue parkas to stay warm as they explore. For the 2026 season, the event will feature a magical Harry Potter theme to celebrate the 25th anniversary of both the film franchise and the ICE! event itself.
You can walk through 10 themed rooms depicting iconic locations and characters from the films, including Hogsmeade Station, The Forbidden Forest, The Three Broomsticks, and The Great Hall.
The Hogwarts castle-themed area features six two-story ice slides that allow visitors to race down toward a brightly illuminated Quidditch pitch.
Beyond the ICE! exhibit, the resort offers a massive Lone Star Christmas experience complete with over 2 million twinkling lights, a 54-foot Christmas tree, ice tubing, ice skating, and snowball throwing.
“Wintry, holiday scenes from the beloved series come to life at Ice! featuring Harry Potter™! Journey through captivating tunnels and arches, zip down two-story ice slides, and see your favorite characters including Harry, Ron, and Hermione all intricately carved out of 2 million pounds of ice,” the event website reads.
ICE! at Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center takes place from November 13, 2026 – January 3, 2027. Tickets to the experience are now available through the venue’s official website starting at $35. The exhibition in its entirety lasts about 20 – 40 minutes, but admission isn’t timed. Guests under 18 require the attendance of paid adult admission. Children 3 and under are permitted free entrance.
