Here in Texas, there are numerous Air B&Bs in which to staycation in state. While it’s hard to say which is our favorite, you could say that the Giraffe Cabin at Blue Hills Ranch is head and shoulders above the rest.
Take your bed-and-breakfast experience to new heights this season at this wild Air B&B. Located in the small town of McGregor outside of Waco, the Blue Hills Ranch is a scenic, 150-acre giraffe and animal sanctuary. Here, groups up to four people can book a stay overnight in the company of the ranch’s resident animal residents – which include giraffes, zebras, donkeys, emus, horses, and camels.
Its owners advise that all resident animals are to be considered wild, and to use caution in their vicinity.
Residents can enjoy sweeping views of the rolling property, colored with seasonal bluebonnets and home to a special wooden barn, dock, pool, and lake that offer sensational sunset spectacles.
The cabin itself is a two-bedroom studio. Among its many amenities include wi-fi, king and queen beds, a piano, air conditioning, heating, and more. The property is also adjacent to a resort, wherein which visitors can access its facilities. Note: the residence does not include the kitchen, but previous guests have noted the ranch’s proximity to a number of excellent restaurants.
Reservations can only be made up to a month in advance as the property often hosts weddings. One-night stays are priced at $229 for an adult couple – with cleaning, service, occupancy taxes and fees the price comes out to $310.
