This is nacho average ballpark nachos. In the past few years, stadiums across the country have stepped up to elevate your traditional ballpark eats. Hotdogs have grown into two-foot long Boomsticks, burgers are now slathered with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly, and popcorn butter is being substituted for wagyu beef tallow.
Swinging for the fences this year is Globe Life Field. Home to the Texas Rangers, the ballpark has introduced the 9th Inning Rally Sombrero. Available this season, the 26-inch-wide sombrero is a wearable dish composed of a fried flour tortilla.
The brim is layered with a comprehensive nine-layer dip of refried beans, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, black olives, and shredded lettuce. The crown is topped with tortilla chips for dipping.
For reference, the hat is lined with paper to prevent any guacamole seeping into your hairdo. The stadium encourages to don their sombrero hats during the ninth inning. The nacho sombreros at Globe Life Field are priced at $40. Fans can find the rally sombreros at The Texas 24” Stand – the same stand offering the the 24-inch Boomstick – in the lower concourse in Section 32.
While the nacho sombreros are in many ways a standout of Globe Life Field’s 2026 culinary offerings, it isn’t the only dish. New in food at Globe Life Field this season include:
- Elote Dawwg with chili-lime crema (Go Deep Fried Sections 24, 225, 230)
- The Pig Kahuna (only available through mobile ordering via MLB Ballpark app)
- Texas Tamale Torta (Sections 17, 125, 225)
- Elote Dawwg (Abner Doubledogs Sections 3, 121, and 225)
- Churro Helmet Sundae (Scoops Sections 6, 102, 125, 235)
