It’s time to map out your October with all the terrific things to do this spooky season; from binge-watching horror films, to imbibing enticing libations in haunted houses, and experiencing wonderlands of pumpkins – there’s so much to do this Halloween season.
For those who enjoy the spirit of Halloween year-round, venture out to the Haunted Castle Cafe in Plano, a devilishly fun dining destination that offers a gothic, yet family-friendly, atmosphere for ghouls young and old.
Opened this past August in the space formerly occupied by Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant, Haunted Castle Cafe is a 10,000-square-foot lunch and dinner restaurant housed inside a castle-like facade. Its location at 1900 N. Dallas Pkwy is conveniently located next door to Haunted House of Hamburgers – a separate concept run by different owners.
The cafe’s key appeal is its immersive gothic ambiance somewhere between a museum and a haunted house. Its interior is beset with horror miscellany like gothic-style furniture, life-size horror characters – find Nosferatu at the bar – cobwebs, and coffins as well as black lights and fog machines.
True to its inspiration, the cafe also has a fireplace.
As for its menu, Haunted Castle Cafe serves a mix of classic comfort foods like the Zombie Burger and Fettuccine Alfredo Grilled Chicken with more innovative dishes lie Octopus Guac and Pistachio Crusted Rack of Lamb. Chef’s Specialties include the latter, as well as Meditteraneo Chicken Chop, and Smashed Meatball with Grilled Veggies.
Haunted Castle Cafe also serves alcohol, with as assortment of signature cocktails, frozen drinks, beers, and wine.
Haunted Castle Cafe is now open at 1900 N. Dallas Pkwy in Plano. The venue is open from 11 am to 11 pm Tuesday through Sunday and from 4 pm to 11 pm on Monday.
