Dallas now has another member to add to its impressive collection of elegant hotels. Now open in the bustling Harwood District after five years of construction, Hôtel Swexan is a 134-room luxury boutique hotel designed by world-renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and developed by the Dallas-based global real estate firm, Harwood International.
It’s from Harwood International’s multi-generational Swiss-Texan family heritage that the hotel gets its name. “Where Swiss hospitality meets Texan charm in the heart of the Harwood District of Dallas” reads the hotel’s social media pages, explaining the inspiration behind the fitting name of Swexan.
Inside guests will now find a fusion of Texan warmth and European flair on every floor. 19th-century Parisian interior details offer historic elegance while polished marble floors and brass chandeliers fuse glamour with the comfort of hand-carved stone, and wooden fireplaces.
Behind 22 stories of mirrored floor-to-ceiling windows, the hotel boasts an array of amenities including a rooftop pool, two ballrooms, banquet spaces, multiple private meeting rooms, and a private social club.
A fitness center meanwhile offers top-of-the-range equipment, wet and dry saunas, and a large outdoor patio for yoga, boot camps, and outdoor activities.
From its 75-foot, 20th-floor rooftop infinity-edge pool to its stunning banquet space and lavish culinary experiences, Hôtel Swexan does not fail to impress on any level but its diverse range of bars and restaurants look particularly promising.
Five enriching restaurant and bar destinations can be found within the hotel ranging from the lobby level Isabelle’s which channels the sidewalk cafes of Europe with continental breakfast options and light lunches to Restaurant Léonie, the crowning jewel of Hôtel Swexan sitting high above the Harwood District.
Elsewhere guests will find Pomelo, the hotel’s rooftop pool bar “inspired by the divine silhouettes of the Mediterranean” and Stillwell’s on the seventh floor, the hotel’s signature, classic steakhouse with a modern twist.
Meanwhile, for those looking to indulge after hours, Babou’s on the lower level is a late-night lounge that transforms into “a hideaway night club featuring a lively dance floor and intimate nooks for a rambunctious audience.”
Whether enjoying a cabana-side cocktail in the company of the unmistakable Texas sunset at Pomelo or sipping on crafted cocktails in the basement speakeasy, the Hôtel Swexan will whisk you off your feet.
Hôtel Swexan is located at 2575 McKinnon Street, Dallas.
