On June 1, 2026, Marilyn Monroe would have turned 100 years old. In celebration of the Hollywood icon, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Grand Prairie has unveiled a special Marilyn Monroe exhibition near Dallas featuring one of the most famous dresses in entertainment history.
Debuting on Friday, June 5, the limited-time exhibition will feature the legendary Jean Louis dress that Monroe wore during her famous “Happy birthday, Mr. President” rendition to John F. Kennedy in 1962.
The historic garment features more than 6,000 hand-sewn rhinestones and holds the record as the most expensive dress ever sold at auction, purchased by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! at a staggering price of $4.8 million.
“Marilyn Monroe remains one of the most recognizable icons in pop culture history,” said Ripley Entertainment’s Regional Manager Rachel Rotella in a press release.
“With visitors looking for unique experiences across North Texas this summer, this is a rare opportunity to see Marilyn Monroe’s dress that represents one of the most unforgettable moments in Hollywood history.”
The museum will pair the multi-million dollar piece with a curated selection of memorabilia and artifacts charting Monroe’s life, Hollywood career, and enduring pop culture legacy.
Visitors will have a rare opportunity to view this piece of entertainment history alongside the venue’s permanent collection of unusual artifacts and interactive displays.
Tickets to the Marilyn Monroe exhibition at Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Museum are included with regular museum admission. General admission is priced around $40 (+ tax) for adults; $35 (+ tax) for children. The exhibition will be on display from June 5 — July 31, 2026.
The Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Museum is located at 601 E. Palace Parkway. The museum is open from 10 am to 9 pm daily.
