Here at the tail-end of September, it’s the last week of the year to enjoy Oktoberfest celebrations. In celebration of the beloved Bavarian holiday, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad are deploying a special seasonal steam engine called the Oktoberfest Craft Brew Train, to take passengers on a special beer German Biergarten on wheels.
Grapevine Vintage Railroad is an historical, long-beloved railway that regularly hosts a wonderful series of train rides throughout the year – ranging from its Thomas the Tank Engine rides, to Trick R’ Treat Trains, and its most famous Santa’s North Pole Express; tickets for the latter, FYI, go on sale, Wednesday, October 1.

Departing this Friday, October 3, the railway will disembark its special Oktoberfest Craft Brew Train. Promoted as a German Biergarten on wheels, the train will be alive with the sights and sounds of Oktoberfest. Passengers can expect an array of German-style beers from Hop & Sting, including Local 3113 OktoberFest, Rheinhart Blonde Oktoberfest, Aluminum Cowboy, and Miracle Wheat.
Additionally, visitors can enjoy a smorgasboard of German cuisine. Served buffet-style, featured eats include Grobe Bratwurst served with sauerkraut and German mustard, brat buns, pretzels, as well as Apple Streusel for dessert.
The 21-and-up Oktoberfest train experience takes place from 7:55 pm – 9:30 pm. Tickets to the experience are available through the Grapevine website, priced at $90 per bench (two people), of $45 per person. Tickets include two glasses of craft beer, a souvenir mug, the German buffet, pretzel, and Apple Streusel from BreadHaus.

“This train is perfect for brew lovers, a friends’ night out or a unique Oktoberfest experience,” the page reads.
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad is located at 636. Main Street, Grapevine, TX 76051.
Interested parties are also encouraged to check out the railway’s other train rides, including the Witches’ Brew Train on Halloween night and the Christmas Wine Train disembarking November 21.
