There’s nothing like a fresh peach in the summertime. You could take your chances getting handsy with the selection from H-E-B, Whole Foods, or otherwise, or you could go straight to the source at Ham Orchards.
Located at 11939 County Road 309 in the town of Terrell outside Dallas is a 100-acre farm complete with five orchards, two blackberry patches, and 10,000 peach trees that bear what the orchard calls the “jewels of summer.”
Ham Orchard is now open for the season inviting visitors to come to their farm on Mondays through Saturdays through mid August and explore their bountiful supply of peaches and peach products.
In addition to selling bushels of the freshest peaches the state has to offer, Ham Orchards offers a sweet selection of award-winning peach goods. From jarred jams, jellies, and preserves, to old fashioned fudge, cider, cobblers, homemade pies, and award-winning ice cream, you’re going to have to show a whole lotta restraint to not buy everything their kitchen and Farm Market Store has to offer.
On the savory side of things, Ham Orchard serves Texas-flavored BBQ with such favorites as their brisket, sausage, and peach pulled pork.
Whatever harvest you collect from Ham, the orchard has a covered pavilion on their grounds where visitors are allowed to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and picnic on their fabulous supply of peach products.
Ham Orchards is now open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sundays. Due to food safety rules, no pets are allowed.
