Punk’s not dead. Punk Noir is a rebellious new concept from James Beard Award-winning chef, RJ Cooper. Along with General Manager and Level II Sommelier, John D’Alexander, Punk Noir is a daring new tasting-menu-only restaurant space coming to Dallas next year with world-class dining, exceptional service, and immersive, graffiti-scrawled dining experiences.
Slated for early 2026, Punk Noir will open a 9,500-square-foot space at 139 Turtle Creek Blvd, Suite 130 in Dallas’ Design District. Owned by Dallasites, John McKeel and sons, Clay and Cole McKeel, the concept was inspired by the McKeels’ experiences dining across USA, Japan, and Europe – wanting to offer world-class cuisine, but with an experience “that is unforgettable, irreverent, and full of energy“.

To provide this experience, Punk Noir will feature multiple immersive spaces including its communal dining room illuminated with graffiti art and visual projections and intimate, neon-lit dining room.
A “Mistress of Ceremonies” will guide visitors through the restaurant as a part of the experience, from the communal dining room, to its open kitchen, then dining room before concluding at its Noir Lounge.
Seating 26 and hosting two to three tasting per night, the restaurant will feature a 20-course tasting menu reflecting Chef Cooper’s avant-garde approach to gastronomy. Among many other accolades accrued throughout his career, Cooper won the James Beard Award for Best Chef in 2007 for his Vidalia restaurant in Washington, D.C.
To add to the dining experience, the restaurant will feature an assortment of pairings, specialty cocktails, and world-class service defined by John D’Alexander.

“Punk Noir is fine dining without the pretense, where hospitality is unconventionally perfect and our team’s personalities can shine,” said Cole McKeel.
“It’s our love letter to Dallas, born from a desire to revolutionize the culinary landscape by pushing the boundaries of conventional dining. We aim to be a destination for food enthusiasts, art lovers, and experience seekers who crave something unique, where punk aesthetics and neon artistry ignite the senses and create an atmosphere for guests to rebel in elegance and savor the unconventional.”
Furthermore, Punk Noir will feature a VIP car service option, where guests will be chauffeured to the venue and escorted into the communal dining room.
Punk Noir plans to open in Dallas’ Design District at 139 Turtle Creek Blvd, Suite 130, early 2026.
