For the first time since 2013, Red Bull’s exciting Flugtag competition returns to the DFW area! Here, visitors can watch in wonder as a whimsical assortment of avian contraptions sail off a 22-foot-high ramp!
What is Flugtag?
Translating to “flying day” in the German language, flugtag is a Red Bull competition that the company has held for over three decades. Here, teams compete against one another to create, build, and fly their own unique machines with the goal of flying the longest distance over a body of water.
Competing teams cannot use an engine or motor on their flying machines. While distance is certainly a factor in the competition, creativity and showmanship will also be judged.
When is the Red Bull Flugtag in DFW?
The Red Bull Flugtag in DFW takes place on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Doors open to the event at noon, with the event finishing at 4 pm.

Red Bull’s Flugtag competition will take place at the Levy Event Plaza at Las Colinas 501 E Las Colinas Blvd, Irving, TX 75039.

What else will the Red Bull Flugtag event in DFW feature?
Visitors can also look forward to the Red Bull judges panel, which will feature Treaty Oak Revival band members Sam Canty, Dakota Hernandez, Lance Vanley as well as pro volleyball player, Madisen Skinner. The panel will also feature content creators, Sketch and Romeo Centeno, as well as former tennis players-turned-podcasters Steve Johnson and John Isner.
In addition to the thrilling flying machines, the DFW Red Bull Flugtag event will feature a wide variety of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Featured activations at the event include a Fan Zone fit with Red Bull merch, interactive challenges, and the Red Bull Racing’s Formula 1 car on display.
Other brand activations include a TopGolf simulator, Scooter’s Coffee mocktails, Slurpees from the 7-Eleven Cold Vault, and more.
Throughout the event, visitors can also witness Red Bull Air Force skydivers dropping in around Lake Carolyn.
