The Dallas Arts District has announced the Texas debut of RedBall Dallas. RedBall is a world-renowned traveling art installation that is much like it sounds: a 15-foot, 250-pound bright red inflatable ball.
This June, RedBall will be bouncing around the City of Dallas – popping up in different areas about the city each day. Continue below to find out more about RedBall Dallas.

Created by artist, Kurt Perschke, in 2001, the RedBall Project has since traveled over 50 cities across the world including the likes of Tokyo, Antwerp, and Paris. The RedBall Project will be the highlight of Dallas Arts District Fest, visitors can see the big red ball – whether intentionally or by accident – around the city.
As stated in the release, RedBall Dallas will mark the exhibition’s Texas debut – hosted from June 19 – 28, 2026 while coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Each day, the RedBall will be located in a different location throughout the Dallas Artis District, Deep Ellum Downtown Dallas, and Bishop Arts. The nature of the ball allows its placement to be wedged into architectural spaces, from grandiose museum entrances, narrow alleys, and skywalks.
The purpose of its meandering placement is part of the project’s effort of “transforming streets, cultural landmarks, and everyday passageways into sites of curiosity, imagination~~play~~, and shared discovery“.

Per RedBall’s creator, Kurt Perschke:
“The urban environment is overbuilt and full of possibilities, and the project is about seeing and playing with the sculptural spaces of a city. The humor and charisma of the piece allow it access to the city and invites others into its story”.
As far as specific locations, RedBall Project will release it daily whereabouts on June 1, 2026. Experience of RedBall Dallas is completely free.
“In the end, art is about people, and I look forward to seeing how each city responds to the invitation RedBall offers. The project is not about a ball; it’s about what the combination of the site, the piece, and everyone’s energy creates together in that day.”
