This New Year’s Eve the Dallas skyline will once again light up with not only fireworks but also an array of different drone animations for Reunion Tower’s seventh annual Over The Top NYE 2023 celebration.
Having debuted last year with 225 drones, this year 259 drones will whizz and whirl 400 feet up in the air reflecting the 259 lights at the top of the tower.
According to organizers, not only will it be the largest drone show ever hosted in Texas but also Reunion Tower’s biggest celebration to date with a simultaneous display of drone lights, fireworks,and special effects all set to outshine last year’s New Year’s Eve extravaganza.
”This year, I will be joined by Metroplex-based Sky Elements Drones who will fly 259 drones to match my 259 LED Tower light show!” read a Reunion Tower tweet last week.
“Top celebration is on everyone’s calendar, and we are pleased to be a part of it again this year,” said the head of Sky Elements, Rick Boss. “This show fits seamlessly into the fabulous pyrotechnics and light show. To have the same number of drones as the light show will make this evening one to remember.”
Sky Elements are the same company that partnered with the Reunion Tower earlier this year for a collaboration with Pokémon Master Leonhart that saw 250 custom-built drones bring to life two beloved Pokémon characters to life above the Reunion Tower.
This year’s Over The Top NYE celebration will benefit the pediatric healthcare provider Children’s Health through the Reunion Tower NYE Foundation.
Onlookers will not be able to gather on the Reunion Tower lawn which will be closed to the public on the night but there will be viewing parties at the Hyatt Regency Dallas hotel and other locations close to Reunion Tower.
Reunion Tower’s seventh annual Over The Top NYE 2023 celebration will be live-streamed and also air on television on NBC 5 starting at 11:30 pm CDT.
Last year the celebration began a minute before midnight and last just under 10 minutes. According to Reunion Tower, it was the only New Year’s show in the United States with fireworks and drones.
