Scarborough’s Hollow is back — and this year, the stakes are higher. The fall fantasy festival, which took home Favorite Faery/Fantasy Festival at the 21st Annual Renaissance Festival Awards, returns to Waxahachie’s Scarborough Faire for its second season with a larger footprint, more live entertainment, and a brand-new villain threatening the magical realm.
The festival runs Saturdays from Sept. 26 through Oct. 31, plus Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 9 p.m. at 2511 FM 66 in Waxahachie. Adult tickets start at $29.70, children ages 5–12 are $16.50, and kids 4 and under get in free. Tickets are available now at ScarboroughsHollow.com.

A New Villain, a New Chapter
This season’s storyline raises the tension in the Hollow: a mysterious figure named Lucian is challenging the Three Sisters — Morwyn, Faylen, and Slyra — who have long kept the realm in balance. That conflict plays out through roaming characters, live performances, and interactive storytelling woven across the festival grounds, giving repeat visitors a genuine reason to come back more than once.
Beyond the narrative, the Hollow offers the full range of immersive experiences: artisan shopping, seasonal food and drinks, live music, comedy, and stage shows. Optional add-on attractions include Blackthorn Haunted Castle, Trickster’s 3D Fun House, and the after-dark Secrets of Rottingwood Cemetery scavenger hunt. Adults 21+ can book guided wine tastings with a Certified Sommelier or craft beer tastings led by a Certified Cicerone®.

Themed Weekends Worth Planning Around
Deaf Awareness Day (Oct. 3) brings ASL interpretation to select performances throughout the day, in partnership with Hired Hands, Inc. Artisan Appreciation Weekend (Oct. 17) spotlights the makers behind the handcrafted jewelry, leatherwork, pottery, and fantasy goods sold throughout the village — guests who spend $250 or more with participating artisans that day receive a complimentary admission ticket to a future Scarborough event.
On Halloween (Oct. 31), the first 500 children through the gates get a free trick-or-treat bag, and a costume contest runs throughout the day. The season closes on Nov. 1 with a Día de los Muertos celebration featuring live mariachi, a community ofrenda, face painting, and a family costume contest.
General parking is included with most adult tickets. Reserved parking, tastings, and select attractions carry additional fees. For the full schedule and tickets, visit ScarboroughsHollow.com.
