30 Things That Are Considered Normal In Dallas But Nowhere Else

Dallas is unique. Due to this fact, we have grown accustomed to certain things that might make others feel as if they were observing them on a different planet—or, at the very least, would find it challenging to comprehend!

1. Believing that the Cowboys will win it all EVERY SINGLE SEASON

2. Easy: the fact that we have Texas-shaped everything. Texas-shaped waffle makers?

☑️ Texas-shaped chicken nuggets?

☑️ Texas-shaped 🚴 races? ☑️ All totally normal.

3. Calling any brand of soda, Cokes. “Hey if you’re runnin to the store grab me a 12 pack of cokes.” “What kind?” “Dr. Pepper”

4. Tacos at a gas station. I’ve never seen it any where else but Texas.

5. Homecoming Mums!!

6. Driving off the highway through the grass to avoid traffic

7. Going 80 mph is “slow”

8. Being 30, making $45,000 annually, spending half of your income on rent, and driving a G Wagon.

9. Missing your exit and ending up in a completely different city🤦🏽‍♀️

10. Waving to the car behind you that let you in the lane✋

11. Minimum speed on the Tollway is 90 mph

12. 20 degrees today 80 degrees tomorrow

13. Boots and suits

14. Commuting 1-2 hours each way

15. Merging 5 lanes in 0.1 sec to exit cutting off everyone on the highway. I’ve only seen that done here.

16.It’s normal to drive 45 minutes to go to dinner

17. Being made at those who drive the speed limit

18. We will open the door for anyone at anytime

19. Rushing to the liquor store before 9 on a Saturday

20. Giving on the highway from the left lane and having the exit 3/10s of a mile on the right

21. Getting hooted at every traffic light that I don’t pull off like a race car

22. There’s 1 drop of rain and the emergency flashers come on

23. Slightly running a light and then someone behind you running it worse lol

24. Going south on the Dallas North Tollway

25. The 12 different names/numbers for each highway, none of which your GPS will use when giving directions

26. Giving your QB hundreds of millions of dollars and them give you back an early playoff exit.

27. Wrecking your car in a pothole on your way to pay Soul Crushingly High Property Taxes that should be fixing these holes

28. U-turning on highways to go the opposite direction during bad traffic

29. Spending 8 million dollars on a highschool football stadium

30. Entire metroplex shuts down when there is sleet or snow in February, and now January too.
