It’s summertime and the living’s easy. While Dallas does indeed have a couple fantastic beaches in driving distance, none are as central as Bishop Arts District Tipsy Beach. Of course, while not actually a beach. The summertime pop-up brings white sands, sunbrellas, and seaside cocktails to the heart of the city.
Tipsy Beach is a summertime pop-up from the team behind Tipsy Elf, the group behind of the city’s most beloved holiday pop-ups. For the hot weather, the pop-up is swapping snow for sand, sleighs for surfboards, and eggnog for mojitos.
The Bishop Arts pop-up is divided into multiple themed areas throughout the community. Running all summer long, Tipsy Beach is divided into the Casa Cabana Beach Club, High Tide Bar, Tropic Alley, Beach Shack, and Garden Terrace – all of which feature flashy immersive decor: think neon, umbrellas, and beach chairs.
With multiple bar areas – both indoor and outdoors – visitors can delight in an assortment of beach-inspired libations.
Featured cocktails include the frozen Banana Stand with Bacardi Superior, banana, coconut and pineapple at Beach Shack; (Like A) Hurricane with Sacred Bond Brandy, Tequila Ocho Plata, orange, and Hypnotiq at Hide Tide; and Kiwi Bunny Ranch with Hornitos Blanco, lime, kiwi, and soda at Satellite Bar in Tropic Alley.
The venue also features on-site karaoke; if you’re a little self-conscious about your pipes, the room is available for private rental.
Over the course of the summer, the pop-up will host weekly programming and special events including the following:
- Waves & Raves from June 20 – 22
- Y2k Weekend from June 27 – 29
- Red, White, & Boozy from July 4 – 6
- Tropical Takeover from July 11 – 13
- Malibu Barbie & Ken Weekend from July 25 – 27
- Coastal Cowgirl from August 1 – 3
The pop-up is 21+ after 9 pm. Tipsy Beach will run into early August. Tipsy Beach is located at 200 N. Bishop Ave.
