The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2023 list of inductees this month. Among the latest musicians to receive “Rock’s Highest Honor” include Kate Bush, George Michael, Rage Against the Machine, Missy Elliot, Sheryl Crow, The Spinners, and Texas’s own, Willie Nelson.
The 2023 class of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees represent half of the 14 artists that were nominated.
The artists that didn’t make the inductee list include Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, The White Stripes, Soundgarden, Warren Zevon, A Tribe Called Quest, and Iron Maiden.
“This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” said John Sykes of the Nominees, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
Over the course of six decades, where in which Willie Nelson who hails from Abbott, Texas has recorded nearly 100 studio albums and has been awarded numerous GRAMMYS, CMAs, and AMAs during his illustrious career.
In 2008, the publication Rolling Stone named Nelson on their list of the “100 Greatest Singers of All-Time” placing him at 88.
The 38th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will occur at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Friday, November 3, 2023.
