We might still be in the heat of summer, but soon fall will be here, and around the corner, the holiday season. If you’re eager to start making your list of the best things to do in Dallas this fall/winter, add Tianyu Arts & Culture winter light festival to your list!
The winter light festival is a project from Tianyu Arts & Culture, the leading producer behind some of North America’s most iconic light lantern festivals. This November, the group is launching a brand new experience in North Texas.
The extraordinary experience will feature 19 unique immersive exhibits made of LED lights, metal, steel, and fabric in which visitors are encouraged to explore, photograph, uncover clues, and possibly, win prizes.
Located at the festival grounds of Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie, the experience will feature a storytelling element, following the character of 7-year-old boy, Koda. The light festival is a depiction of Koda exploring an enchanting rainforest in Caballococha, Peru, wherein he encounters magical characters, plants, animals, and dream scenarios.
Aside from the larger-than-life exhibitions, the event will feature nightly live performances of music, acrobats, and folk artists. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase on-site.
“We are thrilled to debut in Dallas this holiday season,” said Huiyuan Liu, event manager at Tianyu Arts & Culture. “The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, with its rich cultural diversity, is the perfect setting for us to showcase our lantern festival in a new, technologically advanced, and visually stunning way.”
The Tianyu Arts & Culture light festival takes place at Texas Trust CU Theatre at 1001 Trust Way in Grand Prairie from November 8, 2024 to January 19, 2025, on Tuesdays through Sundays. Tickets to the festival start at $16. From now until October 1, visitors can get tickets at a $5 discount price when using the code “TIANYU” at checkout.
