Online food publication, Chowhound, recently published a list of the best cocktail bars in each state. Its “hands down” best cocktail bar in Texas, is none other than Apothecary on Greenville Ave.
Described as an avant-garde cocktail lounge, Apothecary is a boundary-pushing bar that seeks to transcend the ordinary with pioneering techniques, styles, and ingredients. Its moody, speakeasy vibe lends itself to the mixology magic taking place, where the likes of centrifuges, sou vide, and nitrogen are applied to create cocktail riffs on classic meals like Cacio e Pepe, Green Bean Casserole, and Caesar Salad.
Opened in July 2021, Apothecary has since received numerous accolades and recognitions over the years, named as a James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Bar and Michelin Guide recognition for its unparalleled cocktails.
Its latest accolade comes from Chowhound. In its write-up naming Apothecary the best cocktail bar in Texas, Chowhound praised its creativity, technique, and thematic application. Here’s what Chowhound had to say about Apothecary:
“Dallas’s Apothecary opened in 2021, centered around a combination of mad science and classic technique. The three-tiered menu plays on the apothecary schtick – ‘Over the Counter,’ ‘Prescription’, ‘Illicit’ – and goes from approachable (a ‘Baked Appletini’ that is essentially ‘an appletini, but good’) to outlandish (‘Eat My Casserole’ is inspired by the classic green bean casserole.). Annual themes change the entire menu, and a passport feature an element of gamification”.
Presently as of this article, Apothecary is featuring a BEST OF menu of its Drinking Through the Decades menu series, in which the bar has curated their favorites from the Apothecary drinks based off popular flavors and ingredients of various decades of cocktail history.
Apothecary is located at 1922 Greenville Ave. The bar is open from 5 pm to midnight Tuesday through Sunday.
