Halloween season is here, Dallas. In between watching scary movies, zombie bar crawls, and dining inside a haunted castle, enjoy Halloween-themed cocktails, spooky soundtracks, and an immersive atmosphere at the Black Lagoon pop-up at Nickel City.
Originally hailing from Austin, Nickel City started as a beloved dive in the capital where it racked up numerous awards including Best New Bar by multiple publications and mentions on Top Ten Best New American Cocktail Bar, World’s 50 Best Discoveries, and Best Bars in America.
In August 2020, Nickel City opened an outpost on South Main Street in Fort Worth. This October, the retro-inspired arcade bar will transform into a Black Lagoon pop-up.
Much like Sippin’ Santa and Miracle, Black Lagoon is a widespread seasonal pop-up experience that takes over 35 spirited bars across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Incepted by hospitality vets Erin Hayes and Kelsey Ramage, The Black Lagoon is an immersive Halloween experience featuring over-the-top macabre – and a flavor of goth – decor, terrific tunes, and themed cocktails.
Here, Halloween enthusiasts are invited and encouraged to dress in costume – but certainly don’t have to.
The Black Lagoon pop-up at Fort Worth will also feature Emo Nights on Wednesdays. Stay tuned for details on other planned programming.
The pop-up runs from October 11 and October 31 at Nickel City located at 212 S Main St., Fort Worth, TX 76104. The venue is open from noon to 2 am nightly.
In addition to a seasonal selection of themed cocktails, Nickel City offers a variety of crafted cocktails and mixed drinks along with beer, wine, and an expansive whiskey menu.
Nickel City also serves a small selection of food with options for sliders, wings, sandwiches, hotdogs, and other American fare.
Nickel City is known for its numerous seasonal pop-ups including its popular Moe’s Tavern Simpsons takeover and Yuletide Sippin’ Santa experiences. The bar also earned the title of “Kings of Late Night”.
