Following the announcement that Canada’s pride-and-joy Tim Horton’s would be opening a pair of locations in the Dallas area, another Canadian institution will follow suit. Freshslice Pizza is a franchise brand based in British Colombia with over 100 stores in Canada. This year, the company plans to open its first US outpost in the DFW area.
Freshslice was founded by Ray Russell in 1991. Proudly proclaiming itself to be the “Starbucks of pizza”, Freshslice is known for its “3 in 1” deal selling pizza by the slice as well as whole pies – with options for unlimited toppings for one price. As stated the company has 100 locations across Canada.

According to The Dallas News, Freshslice could open its first stateside location as soon as this spring in none other than Frisco outside of Dallas. According to the publication, the company will also open a location in the vicinity of Fort Worth’s Texas Christian University campus around the same time.
“Ray’s vision of being the Starbucks of Pizza is more than a tagline or slogan,” said Dallas-area franchisee Trenton Parks in a press release. “This level of success is built into every aspect of the brand.”

“When compared to other popular U.S.-based pizza brands, Freshslice’s minimum investment fee is significantly lower, and in many cases, half the costs of its competitors,” added Parks. “The brand’s dedication to pizza perfection and its revolutionary turn-key franchise operation makes this an exciting endeavor, and I am excited to bring this to the Lone Star State.”
Freshslice aims to open their DFW locations late this spring. Stay tuned for more details regarding locations, hours, and grand opening dates.
