Having been empty for nearly three years, the 18th floor of the Reunion Tower opened to the public again on Monday, April 17, for the opening of its brand new restaurant, Crown Block.
Perched atop the Dallas’ famed 561 ft observation tower, the new steakhouse has already received a whopping ten thousand reservations meaning it’s now fully booked through to June.
An unprecedented feat in Dallas, it was named the most-anticipated new opening the city has ever seen.
“Poised high above the Dallas skyline atop Reunion Tower, Crown Block offers a culinary experience to surpass that of the typical steakhouse, complemented by an approachable, stylish environment in celebration of all things grilled, seared and roasted”, reads the Crown Block website.
Menus are now available with a range of steak, seafood, and plant-based options all “featuring ingredients from regional farms, ranches, and the Gulf of Mexico.”
When the news was released about the incoming restaurant last year the biggest takeaway was that it would not spin as its predecessor Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty did for so many years until it closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
That evidently hasn’t hindered excitement for the new restaurant however with hordes eager to once again enjoy meals accompanied by unparalleled views over Dallas.
There is also a private event space on the floor below which will still offer a rotating experience.
Reservations at Crown Block become available on OpenTable 90 days in advance on a rolling day-by-day basis. When checking in at the time of writing there was nothing available for the next 90 days so those interested in going soon will need to book as soon as spots open up.
