Every year across the nation the impending winter gloom is countered by the array of annual activities that come with the arrival of the holiday season.
From Christmas markets to ice rinks, beloved traditions return to Dallas filling the city with festive cheer. Of all of the exciting events, it is light shows that are some of our most treasured.
From botanic gardens to stadiums, light shows begin illuminating a variety of venues around the country. One place you’ll almost always find a festive light experience is at your nearest zoo and of all the zoos currently hosting their own annual events Dallas Zoo Lights has been named one of the best in the United States.
Featuring “more than a million lights, animal lanterns, meet and greets with Santa, musical performances and much more” USA Today’s 10 best Readers’ Choice Awards placed Dallas Zoo Lights in the top 10 alongside other huge zoo lights such as PNC Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo, Philadelphia Zoo’s LumiNature, and Zoo Lights Miami.
According to 10best.com, “10Best Readers’ Choice Awards highlight the best of the best in contests covering categories such as destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. Nominees in all categories are chosen editorially by a panel of experts.”
The 106-acre zoological Park was acknowledged for its creative mile-long walk-thru experience in which guests can wander beneath millions of twinkling lights and through dazzling illuminated 3D sculptures and installations.
