The Grand Prairie City Council has officially approved plans to bring a cutting-edge, 360-degree immersive Dome Theater to EpicCentral, introducing a truly unique entertainment experience to the region.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that EpicCentral will be adding a new major entertainment facility to its already stacked district: the Dome Theater.
Officials describe the new entertainment venue as a fully immersive experience. The 360-degree, enclosed dome will surround audiences with wrap-around visual programming and accommodate roughly 400 guests.
For a North Texas reference, the Dome Theater is compared to the Omni Theater in Fort Worth; there is also Cosm at The Colony in Grandscape, a two-story dome theater equipped with wall-to-wall LED displays. however, the Grand Prairie venue will stand apart as its own dedicated entertainment destination.
No timeline has yet been released as to its construction or projected opening date.
Located at 2961 State Hwy 161, EpicCentral is a sprawling 172-acre hub in Grand Prairie. Home to some of the most exciting entertainment destinations in the DFW area; featured entertainment venues at EpicCentral include Bolder Adventure Park, Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, and The Epic 120,000-square-foot fitness, arts, and recreation center.
In addition to family-friendly attractions, waterfront dining, and community activations, EpicCentral also features two on-site hotels, a 10,000-square-foot convention and events center, as well as Chicken N Pickle dining and pickleball venue. The district also features the highly touted Illuvia Vegas-style water, projection, and light show.
