For all the people out there who have ever been shushed at a library – this place is for you. At the Funny Library Coffee Shop, guests are encouraged to crack up as much as they are to crack open one of its many books.
Shelved inside the ground floor at the Virgin Hotels Dallas lies the Funny Library. Part coffee shop, part library, part Kubrick set a la A Clockwork Orange, Funny Library offers Dallasites a hyper-stylized escape from the hustle and bustle.
“We’ve replaced the usual “Shhh’s!” of a traditional library with “Hahaha’s,” the shop writes on its website.” Come take a seat in this communal workspace, pop open your laptop, or grab a book off the shelf. Cozy up and enjoy a few belly laughs, then fill your belly with some delicious coffee, pastry, or some fresh and healthy lite bites. And if you laugh so hard you snort a little, we won’t judge you. Promise”
Their menu features coffee house mainstays such as cold brew/nitro cold brew, espresso, latte, cappuccino, americano, and macchiato. Bookworms can add a little more to their coffee, whether that be vanilla, hazelnut, or caramel flavors, or by way of Bukowski – with the choice of Baileys, Frangelico, Jameson, Amaretto, or Hennesy XO. Teas from J’enwey Tea Company are also available, with options such as Bourbon Vanilla Rooibos, Spiced Chai, and Japanese Sencha.
From the kitchen, Funny Library serves a variety of pastries as well as savories; croissants, muffins, scones, quiches, salads, and breakfast sandwiches comprise this part of the menu.
