Everything is in flux right now, particularly in Deep Ellum. The city’s go-to haven for art, culture, and food lost a number of its fixtures in the economic downturn of the pandemic: Deep Ellum Brewing’s FunkyTown Fermatorium, Lizard Lounge, and the Paddywax Candle Bar all sadly shuttered in the past year. Meanwhile, the area has added a handful of fresh locals, including a whiskey-fueled hatchet-throwing lodge, tulum-inspired coctelería, classic retro libation station, and a world famous fried chicken house.
Now, another legen-dairy establishment has hit the scene with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams fresh new Dallas location.
Jeni’s was created by Jeni Britton Bauer in 2002 in Colombus, Ohio. Since then, the company has opened locations in 12 states across the country, including shops in Austin and Houston, Texas.
The creamery serves dozens of unique flavors using whole ingredients absent of dyes, synthetic flavorings, or store-bought mixes. Some of their delectable flavors include: Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks, Pumpkin Cake Roll, Middle West Whiskey & Pecans, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, and Lemon & Blueberries Parfait, just to give you a taste.
In addition to seasonal flavors mixed in with the time of year, Jeni’s offers multiple dairy free and vegan options, including: Cold Brew with Coconut Cream, Frosé Sorbet, and the so apropos, Texas Sheet Cake.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is now open at 2649 Main St. in Deep Ellum.
