They say kids grow up too fast. One moment they’re swaddled in baby blankets, and in the next they’re going off to SMU to study biomedical informatics. Let your kids learn the ropes at KidZania, a 100,000-square-foot scale model cityscape, where kids can role play between 100 professions – from aspiring pilots to culinary-inclined cooks.
Located in Frisco just outside of Dallas, kids to unleash their creativity, curiosity, and ambition inside a replicate city where they can engage in hands-on occupational activities, earn cold hard cash (KidZos), navigate ultra-realistic city streets, and maybe grab a bite of pizza and a Slurpee.
Upon entrance, the future workforce arrives via a real Boeing 737 airplane fuselage. Here, they’ll check in receiving a security bracelet as well as 50 KidZos – the city currency. From there, they’ll be able to learn and ultimately choose their chosen profession.
As far occupations go, opportunities abound. KidZania features a wide range of fields, from medicine, banking, and engineering to entertainment and media. They can don uniforms, wield tools, and perform tasks that simulate real-world scenarios, all under the guidance of trained staff.
For aspiring doctors, there’s the opportunity to perform mock surgeries in a fully equipped hospital setting. Future chefs can whip up culinary delights in a professional kitchen, while future pilots can take to the skies in a simulated flight experience. Whether it’s fighting fires, delivering packages, or producing television shows, the possibilities are endless.
KidZania also features more contemporary professional arenas such as a podcast and influencer studio.
The city also features a number of dining options for kids to take their lunch break. Options here include Pie Five Pizza, Happy Taco, Mini Melts, a bakery, candy shop, and a 7-Eleven.
KidZania features a variety of group packages making it an ideal location for birthday parties, field trips, and group events. For example, groups of 10-24 children (aged between 4 and 14), can get tickets for $35.95. Adults above the age of 15 can get tickets for $9.95.
For smaller groups or one-off kids, tickets are priced at $42.95 for children between the ages of 6 – 14; $14.95 for kids 4 – 5; and $14.95 for adults.
KidZania is located at 2601 Preston Rd #3011 in Frisco. The venue is open from 11 am – 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
