In March of 2024, McDonald’s launched its CosMc’s beverage concept in Dallas at 6033 Campbell Rd. If you consider yourself a fan, better top off now as the fast food franchise will shut them down later this June.
CosMc’s is a beverage-centric, nostalgia-inspired concept from McDonald’s that first launched in 2023. CosMc’s featured a wide range of speciality drinks, coffee drinks, lemonades, and more including the Churro Cold Brew Frappé, French Toast Galaxy Latte, and Ice Vanilla Match Latte. The venue also featured a range of edible options ranging from a Spicy Queso Sandwich to Pretzel Bites and Caramel Fudge Brownies.
Since March of 2024, McDonald’s opened up four area locations in the DFW extended area including in Dallas, Fort Worth, Allen, and Frisco. CosMc’s also had two locations in San Antonio. By June 23, the company will close all locations as well as discontinue the CosMc’s app.
According to McDonald’s, the CosMc’s locations were intended to be pilot stores or “Learning Labs” where the fast food franchise could experiment with different flavors and food technologies without affecting the existent McDonald’s brand.
“The main goal of the CosMc’s test was to create a launchpad for learning for the McDonald’s System– and the insights we’ve gathered have given us a whole new way to get closer to our fans,” the company stated in a press release.
In a press release, McDonald’s stated that the company plans to incorporate beverages inspired by CosMc’s into McDonald’s program as a part of its ongoing efforts to compete in the beverage space occupied by the likes of Starbucks and Dutch Bros.
All North Texas CosMc’s will close by June 23, 2025. Closures will take effect on a rolling basis.
