Let yourself eat cake at the new Pinkitzel! Inspired by the over-the-top decadence of Marie Antoinette, the new McKinney-based sweet shop offers a range of delicious sweet treats inside a supersaturated pink atmosphere.
Pinkitzel, a portmanteau of “pink” and “kitzel” – the Yiddish word for “tickled” – is a concept created by husband-and-wife team, Jonathan and Christa Jantz. The two opened the flagship sweet shop in Bricktown, Oklahoma City in 2010. Following its success, the Jantz expanded with multiple locations in the OKC area.

This past August, Pinkitzel debuted its first location in Texas in downtown, McKinney. True to its name, the sweet shop at 101 W. Louisiana St., is saturated in whimsical pink decor. Adorned in playful paper garlands, glam accents, and fantastical display fixtures, its over-the-top interior offers a cheerful and immersive atmosphere inspired by Marie Antoinette and Willy Wonka.
The venue also features a special charm bar, a delightful touch where visitors can make their own charm bracelet or necklace to have a (inedible) souvenir of their Pinkitzel visit.
Prominently displayed throughout its shop, Pinkitzel offers an array of sweet treats including cakes, cupcakes, macarons, truffles, and bulk candy – think saltwater taffy, lollipops, and rock candy.

Cupcakes are a hit at Pinkitzel. Available in single form, by the dozen, or half-dozen (with half-dozen truffles), cupcake flavors range from birthday to cookies ‘n cream, red velvet, turtle cheesecake, and more.
Pinkitzel is also open for parties. Here, groups can book its McKinney’s party room for children’s tea parties and make-your-own cupcake parties. The party room is also open to adult bookings – whether for the aforementioned parties, gender reveals, baby showers, or otherwise.
Pinkitzel is now open at 101 W Louisiana St., McKinney, TX 75069. The shop is open from 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday; 10 am to 11 pm Friday and Saturday and from noon to 9 pm on Sundays.
