Reports of a large winter storm are expecting to take place later this week in central and eastern U.S. and it looks like Dallas will get a taste of it. This weekend, a potential winter storm is reported for the Dallas area with temperatures in the lower 20s as well as a high chance of precipitation, including snow.
“ALERT: A major winter storm is expected from Texas to the mid-Atlantic beginning Friday,” The Weather Channel posted on X. “Snow, ice and rain will make for a potentially dangerous situation for millions this weekend”.
Dallas Weekend Forecast
The Dallas area will see temperatures steadily declining beginning this Friday. With a 100% chance of rainfall, temperatures will begin in the 40-degree or so area during the day before dropping steeply into the 20s by nightfall. Winds are expected to clock in between 10 and 15 mph.
Dallasites can expect to wake up to a mixture of wintry precipitation on Saturday morning. The Weather Channel predicts for more periods of snowfall for the rest of the day starting around 10 am with a precipitation likeliness of 90%. According to the Weather Channel, Dallas can see from 3 to 5 inches of snow and ice. Periodic snow showers will occur into the night with temperatures hitting a low of 14.

Looking Ahead, Dallas Forecast Next Week
While Sunday will mark the end of Dallas’ snow days, freezing temperatures are expected to remain in place throughout next week. Starting at a low of 13 and high of 25 on Sunday, January 25, temperature will steadily increase throughout the week, reaching a high of 52 and low of 33 on Sunday, February 1.
Officials encourage area residents to avoid driving on Saturday and Sunday morning as road conditions will be dangerous.
