Weather reports show an incoming polar vortex.
Bundle up, Dallas, because the freezing rain you’re experiencing this morning could turn into snow next week. Weather reports indicate a potential winter storm headed for the city on Monday, with possibilities for scattered snow showers. [Featured image: @matthew_t_rader]
Dallas could see its second snowfall of the year early next week, as The Weather Channel indicates a 40% possibility of snow showers Monday, February 15.
“Watching a potential winter storm,” the channel says on their website. “Mostly cloudy with snow showers during the morning.” The channel also reports a high of 17 degrees Fahrenheit, with temperatures as low as 4 degrees at nightfall.
According to the outlet, Monday isn’t Dallas’ only chance of snowfall next week. The Weather Channel also reports a potential for mixed wintry precipitation on Wednesday and Thursday with the most likely being a 60% chance Wednesday during the day. In all cases, it’s important to note, the weather service predicts snow at an accumulation of less than one inch.
NBCDFW, however, doesn’t not predict snow on either Wednesday or Thursday, but does report a 60% of it on Monday. Their predictions estimate that temperatures on Monday will range from 11 to 22 degrees Fahrenheit.
