If you are in desperate need of some well-deserved rest and relaxation, the wait is finally over. Spa Castle Texas, the authentic Korean bathhouse located in Carrollton just north of Dallas, officially reopened its massive, newly renovated facility this past weekend.
Like the spa version of an amusement park, the sprawling venue features Himalayan salt rooms, saunas, and pools – blending traditional Asian and European wellness practices in an innovative, one-of-a-kind escape. While the venue was supposed to reopen this past January, the reopening was delayed until recently – officially debuting its $4.5 million upgrades.
What’s New: The $4.5 Million Upgrades
While the spa retains its signature layout, the multi-million dollar renovation brought significant hidden mechanical overhauls and exciting new amenities to elevate the guest experience.
- A major portion of the investment went into completely replacing the core systems. With brand-new boilers, upgraded steam generators, and a overhauled plumbing system, guests can expect hotter, more reliable sauna temperatures and significantly stronger hydrotherapy water jets.
- The venue has added the River Rock Foot Bath: a brand-new outdoor therapeutic soaking pool featuring a natural stone pathway. It is specifically designed to provide a soothing, acupressure-style foot massage as you walk through the water.
- Reconstructed using authentic salt blocks sourced directly from Pakistan, Spa Castle has rebuilt the Himalayan Salt Sauna that now features a dramatic French stretch ceiling and is designed to host specialized programming like hot yoga.
- The K-Beauty Lab day spa menu has been revitalized to introduce premium Korean beauty treatments—most notably a signature Korean Glass Facial—alongside a curated lineup of products from Savor Skincare.
- Spa Castle is partnering with local practitioners to host monthly wellness events, including sound healing, Pilates, guided meditation, and community yoga classes.
Returning Favorites & Copious Amenities
In addition to the brand-new upgrades, guests can still enjoy the world-class features that put Spa Castle on the map:
- Sauna Valley: Explore a myriad of therapeutic rooms themed by healing materials, including the famous Gold Pyramid room (lined with plates of 98% real gold), the Charcoal Tower, the Far Infrared Sauna, and the Color Therapy room, which uses light hues to aid physical and emotional health.
- Hydrotherapy Bade Pools: Available year-round, these elegant pools are engineered to soothe muscle pain and target pressure points. Designs vary from the waterfall-populated Mystic Pool to the Hinoki Bath, a traditional Japanese-style bath crafted from ancient, 300-year-old pine wood.
- Rest & Recovery: After hitting the on-site fitness center or achieving peak relaxation in the pools, guests can unwind in dedicated resting zones, including a traditional Korean Ondol Sleeping Area featuring heated floors.
Know Before You Go
To ensure a seamless visit, the new management team has implemented a few strict operational changes that differ from past visits. Guests must now bring their own swimwear: Spa Castle Texas no longer issues spa uniforms to guests. Additionally, valid ID is required.
Looking Ahead: Phase II
The recent grand reopening marks the completion of Phase I. Phase II renovations—which include extensive upgrades to the on-site One Boutique Hotel, the 8,000-square-foot grand banquet and event space, and the penthouse lounge—are currently underway with the goal of opening in the second half of 2027.
Spa Castle is located at 1020 Raiford Rd, Carrollton, TX 75007.
