Dallas-Fort Worth chefs and restaurateurs will be waiting by their screens rather than walking a red carpet this fall, as the 2026 Michelin Guide Texas results will be released without an in-person ceremony.
Michelin has announced that the third annual Texas selection will debut on Thursday, October 8. Instead of hosting a formal gathering for the state’s culinary elite, tourism officials, and media, the prestigious guide will reveal its newest Stars, Bib Gourmands, and Recommended spots entirely online through its app, website, and press releases.
For the DFW dining community, this is a distinct change of pace from the guide’s first two years. During the inaugural 2024 rollout and the 2025 release, North Texas chefs traveled to Houston for exclusive, invite-only celebrations.
This year, however, neither Dallas, Fort Worth, nor any other Texas city will play host. Michelin cited the continued expansion of its global operations as the reason for shifting to a digital-only reveal in certain markets. Despite the lack of a physical event, the organization confirmed it is still actively evaluating restaurants across Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.
While the digital format means Metroplex diners will get immediate access to the new guide, it does trade the traditional glitz and anticipation of a live ceremony for convenience.
Dallas–Fort Worth currently has 28 Michelin-selected restaurants in the 2025 Texas guide: 24 in Dallas and 4 in Fort Worth. That total spans restaurants with Stars, Bib Gourmand awards, and Michelin Recommended status. Going into the 2026 Texas Michelin Guide, Dallas’ two Michelin Star restaurants are Mamani and Tatsu Dallas.
