“(Our investors) like being part of the growth story of downtown. They like the fact that the Cedars is a really exciting neighborhood with an important tradition,” said Therme US group executive chairman, John Alschuler. “We’re committed to this city.”
The planned location in Dallas would feature a 24-acre facility and campus by 1500 S. Riverfront Blvd. According to Dallas Morning News, Therme presently has an agreement in place.
Therme Group’s $800 million development would feature mineral pools, multiple restaurants, 20 varieties of saunas, thermal baths, indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, immersive artistic installations, and more. The group also plants to bring 1,000 palm trees to the venue.
Entry to the Therme Group Dallas facility would be priced around $60 for adult day passes. Children tickets would be priced less. Entry for seniors and other groups would be available for discounted prices.
Reportedly, the development would foster around 1,00o jobs in the Dallas area, generate a 30-year tax revenue of $1.8 billion, and see 1.8 million yearly visitors.
The group still requires zoning and planning approval from the City of Dallas, which Therme will seek to obtain later this year. If all goes well, the company hopes to open its wellness resort in Downtown, Dallas by 2030.
