Six Flags Over Texas has debuted its new world-record-breaking roller coaster!
Unveiled September 2025, the Tormenta Rampaging Run will be the world’s first giga dive coaster, a classification reserved for dive coasters exceeding 300 feet in height.
Themed around the Spanish running of the bulls, the attraction will lift passengers 309 feet before executing a 95-degree vertical drop at speeds of nearly 90 mph. Through a series of intense twists and drops, the ride aims to simulate the chaotic and exhilarating energy of its namesake tradition.
“Six Flags Over Texas has always been a leader in creating unforgettable experiences , and with Tormenta Rampaging Run we are soaring to new heights,” Mark Boyer, VP and Park Manager for Six Flags Over Texas, said in a press release.
Tormenta Rampaging Run is a multi-record breaker, shattering the following records:
- Tallest Dive Coaster: Reaching a staggering 307 feet, Tormenta Rampaging Run gives riders a fleeting glimpse of the DFW skyline before plunging them into a heart-stopping descent.
- Fastest Dive Coaster: Leaving all global competitors in the dust, this coaster clocks in at a world-record 87 mph.
- Longest Dive Coaster: Far from a one-trick pony, the massive track extends an incredible 4,199 feet, packed with non-stop drops, twists, and turns.
- Tallest Vertical Loop: Standing at 179 feet, this record-shattering loop towers over any other dive coaster on the planet.
- Highest Beyond-Vertical Drop: Brace yourself for a gravity-defying 285-foot plunge at a terrifying 95-degree angle.
- Highest Immelmann Inversion: Riders will flip completely upside down at a breathtaking 218 feet in the air—earning ultimate bragging rights.

Look for the new coaster in Rancho de la Tormenta, a beautifully themed Spanish village within the park. This lively, small-town area will feature vibrant artwork and upbeat Spanish music, creating the perfect backdrop for a day of thrills—and a meal at the brand-new Cocina Abuela restaurant.
