Spooky season is moving full steam ahead this October! Witches, wizards, and other magical folk can go on an enchanting and unique voyages aboard The Wizard Train and Witches Brew Train in Grapevine complete with tricks, treats, and costumery.
The spooky steam engine is a part of the historic Grapevine Vintage Railroad freight. The railway is a beloved area gem, renowned for its themed expeditions ranging from a rolling speakeasy, Thomas The Tank trip, and Christmas Wine Train.
This October, the railway has a number of special excursions planned for the Halloween season including the enchanting Wizard Train. Here, witches, wizards, and warlocks can don their magical wares and enjoy a North Texas journey filled with sweet treats, magic tricks, themed cars, and more!
“Enjoy festively decorated train cars, be amazed by magic tricks, talk with puppet pets and see a real toad during the ride,” the Grapevine Vintage Railroad writes on its website.
“Wizard sweets and treats from the British Emporium will be sold on board from a trolley. Costumes are highly encouraged!”
Departing on Halloween evening, The Wizard Train is a 45-minute excursion that departs from the Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District at 705 S. Main St. at 5:05 pm and 7:05 pm.
Tickets are still on sale starting at $30. Prices vary based on seat selection.
For other magical adventures, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad will debut a special 21+ Witches Brew Train on Friday, October 25. The two-hour railroad experience will feature special Texas Craft Brews, individually-portioned freaky fare in an especially spooky atmosphere.
The Witches Brew Train experience includes two complimentary glasses of Texas craft brew and a souvenir mug keepsake.
The latter experience is adult-only and happens rain-or-shine. Tickets start at $42 per person. Passengers select their own seats. The train departs at 7:30 pm on Friday, October 25.
