Dallasites, if you thought the recent opening of Universal Kids Resort in Frisco was exciting, get ready to pack your bags because another large-scale theme park is coming to Texas. COTALAND, located at the iconic Circuit of The Americas in Austin, is officially opening its gates this September, and it is definitely worth the road trip down I-35.
About COTALAND
Located directly adjacent to the 1,500-acre, world-class motorsports racetrack just outside of downtown Austin, COTALAND has been five years and a roughly $105 million investment in the making.
The sprawling destination is a full-scale theme park packed with more than 30 rides, aquatic features, entertainment, and dining options designed for the whole family. Thrill-seekers will have plenty to scream about, as the park boasts several high-adrenaline attractions alongside classic family favorites.
COTALAND rides and attractions
The park’s most highly anticipated ride is Circuit Breaker, the first-ever tilt coaster in Texas and only the second in the U.S., which stops and tilts passengers completely forward mid-course before dropping them down a massive, steep angle.
Other notable rides include the gravity-defying Palindrome shuttle coaster, an immersive oil-rig-themed thrill ride called Spindletop, the classic Soggy Logger log flume, and a splash area for the little ones called Buck’s Silly Soaker.
Given its location at an F1 track, COTALAND naturally leans into motorsports with high-speed experiences for all ages. Thrill-seekers can take on the Hot Lap for $175, allowing guests to ride co-pilot in an authentic race car directly on the venue’s F1 track, making it the only permanent hot-lap experience on an F1 circuit in the country.
Drivers ages 16 and up with a valid license cancruise around a 15-turn outdoor go-kart track at COTA Karting, while junior racers ages 5 to 11 have their very own Kiddie Karts track to conquer.

How to get tickets to COTALAND
COTALAND is scheduled to officially open on September 26, 2026, at 9111 Circuit of the Americas Blvd. The inaugural event will be marked by a grand opening celebration that includes a ribbon-cutting, a first-ride ceremony, fireworks, and additional entertainment. Admission for the event is $99 per ticket, which features complimentary, all-you-can-eat food and beverages.
