Popular culinary tastemaking platform, Yelp, has published its 2025 edition of the “Top 100 Taco Spots 2025”, including Carrollton’s own beloved neighborhood taco joint, Taqueria & Tamaleria Nuevo Leon.
According to the publication, Yelp conducted its “Top 100 Taco Spots 2025” by identifying taco restaurants across the country with large concentrations of reviews that mention “tacos” and then applied a system of metrics to rank the restaurants.
Ranked at No. 30, Taqueria & Tamaleria Nuevo Leon in Carrollton is a popular taco joint renowned for its authentic Mexican options – particularly its tacos and tamales. Now with five options in the DFW area, the family-owned restaurant features popular options like their Tacos de Trompo, Torta, and Gorditas. The restaurant’s birria tacos are also a huge hit, served with haste.
This is not to mention that the restaurants’ prices are also quite tasty. On Taco Tuesday, for one, its Trompo Tacos are a steal for a $1. Throughout the week, Taqueria & Tamaleria Nuevo Leon features a breakfast taco deal – also for a $1 – from 7 am to 11 am with the purchase of two or more tacos.
Taqueria & Tamaleria Nuevo Leon was one of 9 taco joints to land on Yelp’s list. The Lonestar State was the second-most represented state on the list following, California which comprised of nearly half the list with 45 taco restaurants on the Yelp list.
