The legendary fast-food institution made Hollywood famous by the iconic ’00s stoner comedy, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, is officially coming to Texas. Back in August 2025, the food franchise named the DFW community of Grandscape to host its first-ever White Castle location in the Lonestar State. Now, White Castle is preparing to open its doors in Grandscape this summer.
Founded in Wichita, Kansas in 1921, White Castle is a fast-food institution considered not only to be the inventors of the slider but also the first fast-food hamburger chain in America. TIME Magazine went as far as to declare White Castle’s Original Slider as the most influential hamburger of all-time.

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, the company has over 350 locations largely based in the Northeast and Midwest. While the company has castles in over 13 states, Texas thus far hasn’t been one of them. That is, until now. As a part of the company’s recently announced expansion, White Castle, has declared its plans to make a presence in Texas. Fortunately for us, the company has anointed Grandscape outside of Dallas, Texas as the location of its first Texas White Castle.
Per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, White Castle plans to begin construction this April on its location at The Colony in Grandscape. Per TDLR, the 3,430-square-foot restaurant will feature double drive-thru and patio seating priced at a little over $2 million. The documents reveal the projected completion date of September 1, 2026.
“Cravers everywhere have been telling us Texas is a crave worthy place to grow,” White Castle vice president said. “That time is now.”

Its Texas opening is a part of its larger expansion plans which include inaugural locations in Arizona and Florida. As of now, the Grandscape location is the only planned White Castle in Texas.
In addition to its fast food locations, White Castle also offers its products in grocery stores, including frozen sliders and cheese sliders… if you can’t wait.
