The famed, fast-food institution made Hollywood famous through the iconic ’00s stoner comedy, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, is officially coming to Texas. After swirling rumors, the fast food franchise has confirmed that its first Texas fortress will be erected in a DFW, as confirmed by Dallas Morning News.
Founded in Wichita, Kansas in 1921, White Castle is a fast-food institution considered not only to be the inventors of the slider but also the first fast-food hamburger chain in America. TIME Magazine went as far as to declare White Castle’s Original Slider as the most influential hamburger of all-time.

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, the company has over 350 locations largely based in the Northeast and Midwest. While the company has castles in over 13 states, Texas thus far hasn’t been one of them. That is, until now. As a part of the company’s recently announced expansion, White Castle, has declared its plans to make a presence in Texas. Fortunately for us, the company has anointed Grandscape outside of Dallas, Texas as the location of its first Texas White Castle.
While the company plans to make their official announcement at Grandscape at 10:30 am later today, a White Castle spokeswoman confirmed to Dallas Morning News that the first Texas White Castle will be opening at The Colony in Grandscape.
“Cravers everywhere have been telling us Texas is a crave worthy place to grow,” White Castle vice president said. “That time is now.”

The company plans to open its DFW White Castle in summer 2026. Its Texas opening is a part of its larger expansion plans which include inaugural locations in Arizona and Florida. As of now, the Grandscape location is the only planned White Castle in Texas.
In addition to its fast food locations, White Castle also offers its products in grocery stores, including frozen sliders and cheese sliders… if you can’t wait.
