As one of the oldest zoos in Texas, the Dallas Zoo is a signature city attraction. Opened in 1888, later relocating in 1912, the zoo covers about 106 acres, housing a kingdom of over 2,000 animal residents, alongside countless interactive attractions, encounters, and experiences. This summer, you can enjoy them all for the zoo’s Dollar Days promotion.
On two dates this summer, Dallas Zoo will feature its Dollar Days promotion. Presented by NexPoint Philanthropies, the promotion allows for visitors to explore the zoo in its entirety for just $1 per person. Additionally, the zoo will be offering special $1 – $4 deals on food and beverages that includes ice cream, hot dogs, canned drinks, popcorn, and more.
Per the Dallas Zoo:
“Dollar Days are our way of giving back, making the Zoo accessible for all, and saying ‘thank you’ to our amazing community that supports us year-round”.
Dollar Days is available at the Dallas Zoo on Thursday, July 16, and Tuesday, August 4. When purchasing tickets, visitors can select those days on the calendar. Visitors will then select their desired timeslot entry – either morning (8 am – 11 am), mid-day (11 am – 1 pm), or afternoon (after 1 pm).
Visitors can choose to purchase add-ons if so inclined – though not necessary.
Tickets are available directly through the zoo website. As of this article, $1 tickets at the Dallas Zoo are still available for both days.
In addition to Dollar Days, Dallas Zoo has other special summer programming planned including Safari Nights: The after-hours experience offers access to the new butterflies exhibit and Destination: dinosaurs, Keeper Chats, as well as cover bands on Saturdays.
The Dallas Zoo is located at 650 South R.L. Thornton Freeway. During the summer, the zoo’s hours are 9 am – 4 pm daily.
