You don’t need to book a trip to Africa to go on safari this season. Just 30 minutes or so outside of Dallas, in the roaming plaines of Kaufman, Texas, you can meet and greet a kingdom’s worth of exotic animals at Zoofari Park – home to hundreds of zebras, rhinos, and watusis, among others.
Opened in 2023, Texas Zoofari Park is a 900-acre safari park and preservation center in Kaufman, Texas. The park is a part of the larger Zoofari network, which also has locations in Alabama, Florida, and Virginia. According to the park, Zoofari aims to promote wildlife conservation through immersive experiences connecting visitors with its animals and supports conservation efforts in over 135 countries across the world.

The park is home to hundreds of animals, that which visitors can see and, depending on the animals, interact with. Its main attraction is its drive-thru safari. From the comfort of their vehicles, visitors can gaze upon the park’s many roaming animals over the course of a 5.2-mile loop. Animals roaming along this path include water buffalo, llamas, zebras, yak, ostrich, and more.
For an even closer experience, the park also offers a Village Walk-Thru. Here, visitors can graze among other animal residents of the park including wildebeest, bison, addax, giraffes, longhorns, and others. The area is also home to the park’s petting barn and aviary.
Zoofari allows visitors the option to feed the animals. Visitors can opt to feed the animals along the drive-thru safari; for just $5, visitors can feed bison, ostrich, Scottish Highland Cattle, and other animals throughout their ride. Visitors can also feed the giraffes.

A Safari Trading Post is located on the grounds, wherein visitors can grab a souvenir or two as well as drinks, snacks, and sweets.
