Just ahead of the debut of Halperin Park in Dallas – and slightly ahead of the Universal Kids Resort opening in Frisco – officials are set to begin Grand Park in Frisco. Upon completion, the mega park will span 1,011 acres from Dallas North Tollway to Lake Lewisville.
The Grand Park Master Plan
Grand Park in Frisco is a master plan years in the making. Unlike a traditional park, the Grand Park landscape prioritizes inclusive urbanism and universal design. As such, the park is mapped out to facilitate connection, active recreation, and all-ages and abilities accessibility.

Across the +1,000-acre green space, the park will be divided into five districts:
- Civic Park: 69-acre region including an event lawn, performance stage, and pon
- Adventure Play: 39-acre, play-for-all area featuring a gateway pavilion, playgrounds, and great lawn
- The Botanic Garden: 78-acres natural area hosting multiple gardens and floral pathways.
- The Sports Park: 46 acres of sports fields, courts, and parks. Planned features include a baseball field, pickleball courts, skate park, disc golf course, and more.
- The Nature Center: 37-acre, preservation-focused district.

Phase 1: Civic Park
Following the approval of a contract with Crossland Construction Company, Inc — priced at $43.39 — Frisco is slated to officially break ground on Phase 1 of Grand Park on April 27, 2026. Phase 1 will consist of the construction of Civic Park on the northern region of the park. The roughly 69-acre space anchoring the development will feature a massive 7,500-person-capacity event lawn, performance stage, and 3-acre pond complete with a boat launch and kayak launch.

Grand Park of the Future
Officials aim to finish construction on CIvic Park by late summer or early fall next year. While entire timeline of the project is expected to take decades, Frisco will in the coming years focus on the 287-acre core of the park; that which, hosts the five districts. Officials have not estimated when they aim to complete the five districts. Estimated completion dates suggest operational districts from 2030 – 2032.
