One of the most unique sporting attractions in Texas—and perhaps the world—can be found at Riders Field in Frisco, home of the Frisco RoughRiders, a Double-A minor league baseball team. Nestled just beyond the right-field wall, this stadium features an extraordinary 3,000-square-foot lazy river that gives fans a refreshing new way to watch America’s pastime.
Touted as the largest water feature in any professional sports venue, this 68,000-gallon lazy river stretches longer than an Olympic-sized pool, measuring roughly 400 feet per lap. Since opening in 2006—christened by none other than NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki—it has offered a unique, 270-degree view of the ballpark, making it one of the most unforgettable places to enjoy a game.
The river is heated during the cooler months and is available to single-game ticket holders who purchase a separate lazy river pass. On Thursdays, it transforms into a 21+ venue for “Rowdy at the River,” a lively weekly that features a live DJ, drink specials, and food. Tickets are priced at $25 per person and include admission to the game.
For those planning a group outing, the lazy river can be rented for private events—ranging from birthday parties to corporate gatherings—on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, accommodating parties from 20 to 200 people. Reservations can be made directly through the stadium.
Guests can enjoy a wide selection of alcoholic beverages from the CoServ Cabana, with full catering options available for an additional fee. Sundays are family-friendly, with the river open to ticket holders of all ages during the weekly “Family Fun Day.” Prices here vary by date.
Fans are encouraged to bring their own swimsuits and towels, but the venue provides floats for everyone. Lockers are also available for storing personal belongings.
Single-game tickets to see the Frisco RoughRiders start at just $11 for lawn seating, while lazy river access is available starting at $25.
