The annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo is a massive 10-day fair in Dentron that returns for its 98th year this August. PRCA rodeo action
The fair’s core attraction is its Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo. Produced by Andrews Rodeo Company, the nightly PRCA shows feature bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie‑down roping, breakaway roping, team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Rodeos begin at 7:30 pm most nights, with special youth “Mutton Bustin’” events earlier in the evening.
Carnival midway and family activities
A full carnival midway with thrill rides, kid rides, and games operates daily once gates open. On weekends, gates open at 1:00 pm with family-focused activities and livestock shows; on weekdays gates open at 5:30 pm, featuring livestock shows, commercial exhibits, and kids’ zones to round out the fair experience.
Concerts
The fair’s Miller Lite Main Stage will feature a mix of 1990s country stars, red dirt favorites, and current charting artists to the outdoor pavilion each night. The Cool Zone Revolver Stage, set up nearby, showcases rising regional performers and acoustic sets starting around 6 pm.
Headlining acts include Braxton Keith, Chris Cagle, Ned LeDoux, Jake Hooker & The Outsiders, Kody West, Tyce Delk, Josh Meloy & William Clark Green, Aaron Watson, Diamond Rio, and Los Pescadores Del Rio Conchos. The lineup also highlights North Texas artist Kody West, who performs on August 25.
Classic Texas fair food
Visitors can expect the usual Texas fair staples: funnel cakes, corn dogs, fried Oreos, turkey legs, barbecue, and other deep-fried favorites, plus local vendors and concession stands throughout the grounds.
Tickets and schedule
The North Texas Fair & Rodeo takes place from August 21–30, 2026 at North Texas Fairgrounds, 2217 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton, TX 76201. Tickets are available starting at $20 for adults (13+); children 7–12 $5; ages 6 and under free. Gates open at 1:00 pm on weekends and 5:30 pm on weekdays; fairgrounds close around 1:00 am.
