A new outdoor music venue is in the works in the Dallas area. But not just any music venue, Sunset Amphitheater is a $220 million project that will seat up to 20,000 attendants with plans for luxury suites, upscale, food, and more.
The project is overseen by Notes Live. The Colorado-based company has plans to open a number of venues in Colorado, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Georgia.
Noteworthy is the company’s The Sunset amphitheater which is slated to make its debut this summer in Colorado Springs. The company’s aim is to rival the iconic Red Rocks amphitheater, which is set to feature Roth’s Seafood & Chophouse, Brohan’s Manhattan-esque Bar, as well as private fire-pit suites.
Whereas The Sunset in Colorado Springs will seat up to 8,000 attendants, the Sunset Amphitheater in McKinney will seat 20,000 on par with that of American Airlines Center. Notes Live also states that each seat will have a direct sightline of the stage.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be bringing our biggest venue to date to McKinney, Texas,” Notes Live CEO JW Roth said. “They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and for the Sunset Amphitheater in McKinney, that was our guiding principle – bigger, and better. McKinney is an incredible community, and we can’t wait to build the most over-the-top venue on earth.”
Other planned features for the venue include over 250 private, fire-pit suites. Much like The Sunset, McKinney’s Sunset Amphitheater will also feature gourmet dining options.
“With a state-of-the-art venue of this size, we can draw some of the largest musical acts to the city and attract fans from across Texas and the surrounding states,” said McKinney Mayor George Fuller.
“This new addition to our community will bring even more life and energy to our already thriving arts scene and undoubtedly continue to set McKinney apart as an entertainment and cultural hub in the region.”
Notes Live aims to begin construction later this year, with a planned opening in 2026.
