Boogie down to Billy Bob’s this season for some good, old-fashioned country western dancing this season. Known as ‘The World’s Largest Honky Tonk’, Billy Bob’s regularly hosts up to 6,000 dancers in a fun-loving environment and Texas-sized dance floor.
Opened in April 1981, Billy Bob’s in the Fort Worth Stockyards turned what was formerly a department store into a 100,000-square-foot country-themed entertainment center complete with 30 bars, pro bull riding, a massive dance floor, and stage.

Over the past 40-odd years Billy Bob’s has won the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association’s “Country Music Club of the Year” award 12 times, welcomed over 17 million visitors, and seen over 47,500 bucking bulls at its arena. Furthermore, the club has staged some of country’s biggest stars, including Willie Nelson, ZZ Top, and Alabama.
Nowadays, Billy Bob’s is still kicking – to say the least. In addition to hosting Live Pro Bull Riding every Friday and Saturday night, the Texas-sized honky tonk (now with a record label) regularly hosts musicians ranging from rising stars to certified legends in country and other genres.
Patrons can also swing down to Billy Bob’s to rip it up on the dance floor. Additionally, if you think your dancing moves can use a little boost, Billy Bob’s also features dance lessons throughout the week ranging from couples dancing and line dancing with daily deals for college students (Thursday nights), ladies (Wednesday nights), and weekend noon lunch and line dance lessons. Daily admission is required to attend dance lessons.
In true Lonestar fashion, Billy Bob’s also features a smoking kitchen and restaurant specializing in authentic Texas cuisine open daily for lunch and dinner.
That’s not all, however. Billy Bob’s also features arena volleyball, a music memorabilia museum (including hand prints from Willie Nelson to Ringo Stars), pool tables, and more.
Billy Bob’s is located at 2520 Rodeo Plaza in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The venue is open from 11 am – 6 pm Mondays; 11 am – 9 pm on Tuesdays; 11 am – midnight Wednesdays and Thursdays; 11 am – 5 pm/6 pm – 2 am Fridays and Saturdays; noon – 6 pm Sundays.
