Six Flags Over Texas is cooking up something big… and fast. The DFW-based theme park has announced its plans to bring a towering, world-record breaking rollercoaster to its park as soon as 2026.
Announced earlier this September, Six Flags Over Texas will be “taking history by the horns” with its thrilling new, world-record-breaking rollercoaster attraction. Called the Tormenta Rampaging Run, the rollercoaster would be the world’s first giga dive coaster – a dive rollercoaster above 300 feet high.
Inspired by the longstanding Spanish tradition of running with the bulls, the ride would lift passengers 309 feet in the sky before plunging them down a 95-degree angle vertical drop at speeds of nearly 90 mph. The ride will be made will all sorts of exhilarating twists and drops, replicating the invigoration of the Spanish bull running.

Furthermore, the Texas rollercoaster will break six world records, including:
- Tallest Dive Coaster: The Tormenta Rampaging Run will reach up to 307-feet high, briefly passengers a fleeting glimpse of the DFW skyline before plunging them into a heart-stopping descent.
- Fastest Dive Coaster: The dive coaster will track speeds of 87 mph, faster than any other worldwide.
- Longest Dive Coaster: Not just a one trick pony, the expansive dive coaster will extends 4,199 feet long, complete with drops, twists, and thrilling turns in one ride.
- Tallest Vertical Coaster Loop: Measuring the loop in the coaster, it comes out to 179 feet – beyond that of any other dive coaster on the planet.
- Highest 95-degree beyond vertical drop: This? Oh nothing, just a 285-foot drop down a 95-degree angle.
- Highest Immelmann Inversion: Referring to the upside down portion of the ride, passengers will be so at heights of 218 feet. Quite solid for bragging rights.
“Six Flags Over Texas has always been a leader in creating unforgettable experiences , and with Tormenta Rampaging Run we are soaring to new heights,” Mark Boyer, VP and Park Manager for Six Flags Over Texas, said in a press release.

“This coaster is a true testament to our commitment to providing world-class thrills and innovation, and we can’t wait to bring this historic ride to life in 2026″.
The Tormenta Rampaging Run will be located in the amusement park’s Spanish village-inspired Rancho de la Tormenta area. More aptly, the Rancho de la Tormenta resembles a small town, filled with lively Spanish music, colorful artwork, as well as its brand-new Cocina Abuela restaurant.
Park officials aim to open the world-record breaking rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Texas in 2026, but no specific date has been announced. Stay tuned for more details!
