Adam Sandler, the beloved New York City actor, and comedian, has announced that he’ll be coming to the Big D as part of his Adam Sandler Live tour offering Dallasites a rare chance to see the famed funny man in person.
Along with a special surprise guest, he’ll be taking over the American Airlines Center on Wednesday, February 15, and tickets are now out!
Known for movies like Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Grown Ups, and Uncut Gems the former SNL star has recently pivoted to more PG movies but warns that this stand-up tour, part of his renewed focus on stand-up comedy, is for more mature audiences.
It comes after his most recent 2022 movie Hustle, in which Sandler plays an NBA talent scout, spotlighted the Dallas Mavericks.
Having worked with current Mavericks and ex-Mavericks who have called the American Airlines Center home since 2001, the actor and comedian will now be performing at the 21,000-capacity Victory Park arena.
Sandler has been touring the United States for the last couple of months performing 25 coast-to-coast shows at various venues. After pausing for the holidays, he announced at the end of 2022 that he’s returning to the stage at 11 different arenas with a surprise guest starting with a Chicago date on February 5th.
“What the heck! Let’s do a few more!” read Sandler’s tweet with a list of all new tour dates and locations.
News of the tour extension came in the same week it was announced that the 56-year-old comedian will be awarded the prestigious 24th Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in March.
Hosted at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C, the annual comedy gala features some of the biggest names in comedy and honors those who have “had an impact on American society.”
“Adam Sandler has entertained audiences for over three decades with his films, music, and his tenure as a fan favorite cast member on SNL,” said Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter about this year’s recipient.
“Adam has created characters that have made us laugh, cry, and cry from laughing. I am looking forward to a laughter-filled evening like no other as we celebrate his career at a ceremony that is sure to bring together the best in comedy.”
After shows in Houston and Austin, Dallas will be Sandler’s final stop in Texas in February before he rounds up his tour with performances in Nashville and Charlotte.
Adam Sandler’s Dallas show will take place at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 at the American Airlines Center located at 2500 Victory Ave.
Tickets are now out on Ticketmaster and can be found here.
